IT Academy 2010
During the first week of May 2010, IT managers/directors from all over the world joined with participants from Schindler, Hilti, IBM, Omya, Clariant, Franke, ALSO, Holcim and Geberit from 14 different countries attended the second IT Academy in Locarno, Switzerland.
This special IT management education was founded by Lucas Kuttler (COO ALSO) and Martin Studer (CIO Omya) out of a need to offer IT managers highly practical, business case and team work based learning combined with CIOs contributions to facilitate knowledge sharing and skills updates in all relevant IT topics.
The topics were roughtly the same as in the October 2009 training with some new presenters:
- Going Global – Implications for Enterprise IT Management (Michael Nilles, Group CIO – Schindler)
- Customer Service Solution Presentation (Christoph Baeck, Head of Voice and Network Applications – HILTI)
- Business Driven IT Strategy (Constantin Anastasiadis, Global Technology Services – IBM)
A special new feature was added to the program: The CIO Roundtable. Participants have the unique opportunity to discuss current IT challenges with 4 -5 experienced CIOs and network in a casual environment.
The overall feedback from the participants was very positive. The weather could have been better….. Nevertheless, the outdoor team event in poring rain added to the bonding of the team members.
The quality of the presentation, the organization and facility, as well as the CIO contributions were very well received and highly rated. On a scale 1 to 4 (4 being the highest) the average rating reached 3.7 – this is a motivating result for the next training planned this fall.
