IT Project Management Training 2016

Day 0:
After the long journey sitting in the airplane, train or car, the PM Training 2016 started with an outdoor event, where the participants were splitted into four teams and had to complete a climbing parcour. The day closed with an introduction from Lucas Kuttler (Asvito), Robert Millsom and Ralf Diekmann (Hilti).

Day 1:
On the first actual training day, the participants met at the Rondo, where they enjoyed of an amazing view to Piz Morteratsch. The seminar started at 8.00 and was focused on general Project Management tasks such as Project Vision, Project Scope, Project Organization and the Agile Project Management. Speakers were Robert Millsom, Johann Stadler and Wolfgang Seyfferth from Hilti. The first day closed with the Red / Blue exercise, which taught the participants to be alert of hidden agendas, and a delicious 4 courses meal.

Day 2:
The second training day of this year’s PM-Training stood in the focus of Planning & Execution, Stakeholder Management and Communications. The presentations were hold by Klaus Müller from Clariant as well as Wolfgang Seyfferth and Johann Stadler from Hilti – again in the Rondo Congress Centre. The participants learned how to interact in the multinational landscape with the correct communications skills. The seminar day was closed by Volker Laska, CIO Clariant, who talked about Soft Skills and the importance of the emotional aspect in the daily business.
The day closed with the awaited and interesting CIO Roundtable, in which the participants could ask questions to Lucas Kuttler, Founder of Asvito AG and former CIO at Schindler; Volker Laska, CIO Clariant; Markus Bierl, CIO Franke and Ralf Diekmann, Project Manager Hilti.

Day 3:
On the third day of the seminar the focus was on the dynamics of globalization and “Change Management” it requires. The presentation was held by Lucas Kuttler, President of the IT-Academy. In the “Risk Management” presentation held by Wolfgang Seyfferth from Hilti potential risks and their handling were discussed.
In the afternoon the groups had some time to work on the group-projects, before heading either by bike or by foot to the “Schaukäserei” for a cheesy dinner. The Fondue was an excellent occasion to enjoy the last night of the PM-Training 2016.
